because the Universe is friendly.
Remembering to say thank you.
I often remind my children to say “thank you” to people and count their blessings.
So I thought I should make this page available to everyone as a place where we can share the things that we are grateful for.
If you would like to add to this page simply go to the end of this post and click on the comments tag.
I’ll go first.

Playing Music and The Joy of Living
I thought that I should start this page of thanks, particularly as I am overwhelmed with the fun of playing music with good people.
Just when I think that everything is going to become quiet, something amazing comes along to fill me with energy and make the world sparkle. Last Friday I was very privileged to play some funky jazz with Soul Kitchen at the Milton Theatre. This band is really a vehicle to let people hear the music of Josh Barkwith, who is one of the most musical people I have met and definitely one of the most grounded and genuinely great guys.
So there we were: Josh, Stewart Harrison, Trevor Kettlewell and I, on a beautiful old stage in an intensely intimate, relaxed and great sounding theatre. We did try to start playing before the introductions, but were foiled in that attempt by the dedicated theatre folk.
Then, we started to play and suddenly it was all over. Time goes so quickly when you are playing to the best of your ability- there were definitely some mistakes, but overall I was very happy.
In any case I am proud and feel very lucky to have played with such great players and wanted to say a public thank you.
And then there is the goose bump moment when The Carnation Project (a Melbourne band) started to play. If you have a musical bone in your body please go and listen to http://www.myspace.com/thecarnationproject.
Zoe Kalenderidis writes, arranges and leads this band and is living proof that angels are everywhere.
So I have spent the last few days singing and listening to their songs and marvelling at the level of musicianship. Life is always so much more fun with a sound track!
The books are currently on the wharves of Sydney and I am getting ready for the next stage in the project. Until they arrive, however, the sun is shining, music is playing and life is good.
Peace and love,
Ged

i sat at my desk, opened my laptop and set my mind to the task of thanking the universe. as i eased back in my chair i thought briefly over the many different elements in my life for which i am (or should be more) grateful; my family, my friends, my music, my country, my upbringing, my money, my health etc. as these flashed through my mind i realised in that split second that it would be a hard choice to determine which of these i would single out to thank publicly here.
with my mind wandering down these avenues i pulled in my chair to write my message of gratitude to the universe. as i pulled my chair closer to the monitor i managed to smash my left knee hard against the front left leg of the desk.
so now i choose to thank the universe for the lack of pain (that i now apreciate but until very recently took almost completely for granted) in my right knee.

There are not enough words in the english language that could shower the praises of Ged and Amanda Brindley. We have been blessed to have them enter our lives. We have found that our world is filled with amazing creative people, and our universe has just compounded with them now a part of it.
As I stare out across the ocean in southern Mexico right now I think of the incredible journey that has brought us here, and the night that Jed played with us during the last SeeChange at our home, Casa Cantamar, knowing that we needed a great night in order of us to get here and help out at the Escuela de Esperanza. With the kindness of everyone involved we were able to generate $1500.00 towards that school, and I got the privilage of installing some fine hand made doors and jambs for one of the new classes that has been built. Its almost surreal to be able to walk in such a wonderful circle. So, as I swing in my hammock thinking of new ideas, please buy the Inaka book for yourself, your friends, and even for passing strangers. It all comes back eventually.

I am thankful that the world is there, otherwise I would be floating around. I am grateful for my friend Koo and the help I get at school. I like swimming because it is as close to zero gravity as you can get. Most of all I am happy to be alive.

I am grateful to the Universe for manifesting, at this moment in time, sufficient creative and loving souls capable of re-energising, re-vitalising and re-alinging our home, this planet, to reflect the true nature of our human hearts so that the animals no longer live in fear.
With Love & Respect,

The universe is a great source of fun, entertainment, life and joy. It harnesses energy to make us all individual and different, enabling us to live in a world that teaches and learns from each other.
I am thankful to the universe for giving me the ability to learn through all the senses about the wonderful world we live in. From the various shapes of the trees and plants to the sounds of the different animals, the nutrition of the different fruit and vegetables we harvest and the way many people create using these resources. I love how i am able to travel about learning about different cultures and people, who embrace the earth they walk on in many different and exciting ways. I love how humanity sounds different f through language, art and music.
The universe is one for all, after all, WE ARE ONE under the same universe.

I am thankful for being able to live in a society that furnishes Education, food, safety and a political system that seems to work. There are places on this earth that have never heard of any of these- I hope that the universe bestows upon them what we take for granted.

In our garden there is an old twisted dwarf weeping mulberry tree. At this time of the year it is naked, devoid of the shower of green, which, in the Summer, grows down to meet the Earth. Right now the early morning sunlight is playing in the folds and twists and turns of the branches, and underneath, the arum lilies, lusciously green with their white trumpet flowers reach upward after 2 seasons of being cocooned beneath the mulberries foliage. Some visitors have remarked that the tree looks twisted in a tragic way, tortured and bitter. We have never looked at it this way. To our family the mulberry is dancing through its life, season after season of loss and renewal, curling its branches around each other in a big personal hug, loving itself, which is after all what we are all here to learn to do. In the Spring I will wander through the garden in the morning and I will notice a tiny bud of green at the very top of the tree illuminated by a ray. My heart will do a little flip of joy at the knowledge that Springtime is here and I will be grateful, as always, that nature is such a beautiful companion, when we are open to her messages.

Thank you for the many “coincidences” that have led me to where I’m supposed to be. Thank you for friends (and family) who surround me with love. Thank you for the people who’ve helped me to find out who I am. And thank you for the light and the water, the sky and the trees and the hills, the beauty that is always there if we look for it.

Hello Planet and Blessings to you, as you have given me so many blessings.
Thank you for the weird and wild experiences that have shaped me into who I am.
Thanks to all of me, the many of me, the solo of me who has fought and created and become my world.
Thank you for the people who have partnered with me, either as lovers, friends, acquaintances that have enhanced, embraced and energised my life.
Thankyou to Cyngirl99 who changed my perceptions of the world and how it worked. And who taught me to float when I thought I was drowning. And thanks to Gerard, who brought her a sense of peace that I did not know how to give to her.
Thank you to the Internet that has sustained me and at last let me find her again.
Thanks to my husband who astounds me daily, excites me nightly and makes me giggle in between.
Appreciation and gratitude to my two puppies, one who has left me now to a higher place, but the other who insists on being a lovable rogue.
In the last ten years, I can only recall a handful of times when I have not woken up and thought “I’m the luckiest person on the planet”.
Every bad event in my life has been rewarded tenfold, and has taught me amazing lessons.
I am who I am, who I shall be, and who I imagine. I imagine my life with gratitude.
Thank you.
